Health

You should be reasonably fit and in good physical health as some of our tours require walking over uneven ground, climbing stairs and longer periods of standing. Many European cities feature narrow passageways and cobblestone streets, which may be challenging to guests with mobility issues. Some tours take place in higher altitudes or include transfers over bumpy and dusty terrain. Visits to historic sites may involve steep and narrow staircases. Nevertheless, your participation is left to your own discretion. Please advise your Tour Director of any concerns you may have regarding the physical activity on a given day’s sightseeing. He or she will be able to advise you and offer alternatives.

Riviera Tours regrets we cannot provide special assistance for guests with mobility or health challenges. Guests needing assistance with walking, a wheelchair, or dining must be accompanied by an able companion. Some of our itineraries cannot accommodate wheelchairs or motorized scooters. Please consult your Riviera Tours Travel Consultant to determine if a tour is right for you.

We suggest you contact your health insurance provider to confirm the extent of your coverage while traveling abroad. You may be able to add additional travel health insurance to your current policy or purchase one from an outside source.

Please ensure that all medication is packed in your carry-on luggage.
We would request that you bring the name, address and telephone number of your medical provider as this is usually required by insurance companies if you become ill.

If you have a physical disability, or are undergoing medical treatment that may affect your participation during the tour, please let us know as soon as possible by phone, and in writing, so we may advise your Tour Director.
We strongly suggest that you check with your medical provider and the Center for Disease Control at www.cdc.gov for any immunizations and medications required prior to departure.
